Undergraduate Physics Degrees

We offer degree programmes which reflect the diversity of modern physics, with flexible modules ranging from general relativity to spacecraft dynamics.To find out more about our unique, highly-rated MPhys and BSc Physics degree programmes please visit undergraduate courses .

Alternatively, if you are looking for a more broad range of modules in physics, chemistry and biology, our Integrated Science degree may be for you. This course is attractive to students who may not wish to specialise in one discipline therefore gaining a grounded background in a range of subjects. 

Postgraduate Study

Opportunities for postgraduate study include MSc courses in Medical Physics, Radiation and Environmental Protection, and Radiation Detection and Instrumentation. We also offer PhD studentships across all our research programmes.

Research

Our research groups consist of the Centre for the Nuclear and Radiation Physics, Photonics, Theory and Advanced Computation, and Soft Condensed Matter 

Outreach Activities

Schools Liaison activities include our Liftoff! Model Rocket programme, Messages from Space, Ideas and Evidence, and our popular StarBase website. Open Days and Physics Masterclasses are  held between June and October.
