Typical entry requirements
Entry to the first year of the Programme requires a minimum of a IIi honours degree at Bachelors level in physics, or its equivalent. Applicants with suitable industrial experience will also be considered. There is also the expectation that students with appropriate prior learning will enter directly in to the second year of the programme by credit transfer from another institution. Direct entry to the second year requires students to have achieved the equivalent of a PGDip in Physics (120 credits at level M).
Candidates for whom English is not their first language will be required to have taken an English language test within two years of the programme start date and achieved a score of TOEFL 575 or above, IELTS 6.5 or above, or Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English Grade B or above.
Applicants seeking admission to the programme pathway incorporating nano technology and nano-electronic devices will additionally be required to satisfy the admissions criteria of the Division of Electronic Engineering Department. In practice, for the majority of applicants, this will not present an additional requirement.
