CHARISSA nuclei pictures

These pictures contain representations of the cluster configurations in some nuclei. Spheres mark the centres of the harmonic oscillator wells in the Bloch-Brink alpha cluster model. Diagrams will be marked saying whether the positions are the results of calculation, or just a schematic representation of the shape.

Needless to say, these pictures shouldn't be taken as a literal pictures of nuclei. Full calculations have to take into account the quantum mechanical nature of the objects involved and such joys as anti-symmetrising the wavefunction.

The pictures were generated using the raytracing package Rayshade. They were converted to JPEGs with a quality factor of 95%.
