This page gives links to documents that should help people intending to write HTML (HyperText Markup Language) documents.

A beginners guide to HTML. Should be enough to get you started. For extra speed, here is a local copy copied on 24-Feb-1995.
HTML Quick Reference
A Quick reference page for HTML - for the times when you can't be bothered to read the full specs above (or when the network is too slow). For extra speed, here is a local copy.
Local users will find NPG documents in /vol/ph/www/npg along with the GIFs I've used.

We should really have a local style guide, to allow consistent styles on pages with different authors. My suggestion is that, where appropriate, pages should have a link to the page nominally above them, and they should have the name of the person who is responsible for it at the bottom.
