Listening To Satellites: Introduction

All that is required for a basic satellite tracking-station is a radio - receiver tuned to one of the satellites, a suitable aerial (possibly "home made") and a tape - recorder to record any transmissions that are received. To save on hours of listening to "white noise", you will also require some method of predicting when a satellite is within radio range of your school!
