Space and astronomy

Microsatellites can monitor the radiation in space. For example the Cosmic Ray Experiment (CRE) on PoSAT1 and KITSat-1 detects energetic cosmic particles. The results from satellites in higher polar orbits (1320km) are compared with results from lower orbits (800km). This is continuing the work started by UoSAT-3 and UoSAT-5.

For example, the star sensors on PoSAT-1 and UoSat-12 use a Charged Couple Device (CCD) cameras to image faint stars.
